Due to the increased pace of technological change and the importance of new commercial developments, The Catalyst Group Resources (a member of The Catalyst Group) is offering its ChiraSource conference on an annual basis in Europe. Last held in Lisbon, Portugal in the Fall of 2000, this year's event, ChiraSource2002-Europe is scheduled for April 8-10, 2002 in Lisbon, Portugal and will be offered annually hereafter. Two years between these events in Europe is clearly too long!

In order to provide the maximum benefit to participants and attendees, ChiraSource2002-Europe will feature developments and issues of particular interest to European companies. The speaker line-up will emphasize progress being made by European organizations as they develop and implement speed-to-market techniques and services. Approaches to solutions by European companies, consortia, academic labs and government efforts will be highlighted, not just for the benefit of Europeans, but for attendees from all parts of the world.

Complementing its European coverage, TCGR will continue to hold its ChiraSource conference in the US each Fall, thereby providing annual coverage in both important geographic regions.

The Catalyst Group Resources (a member of The Catalyst Group) presents ChiraSource2002-Europe, which features outsourcing, technology, and services available to speed-up the time-to-market. Within this scope, we will continue our quest to provide attendees, speakers, and exhibitors, with a unique "hands-on" forum to become acquainted with the latest manufacturing methodologies, new instrumentation/computerization, scale-up practices, and techniques being deployed in the European pharma and fine chemical intermediates industries. Most importantly, the conference format is designed to foster participant exchange about recent innovations and to establish professional linkages to continue industry networking.

The ChiraSource Conference Series has evolved over the last six years, from initially addressing the issue of chirality as it has developed using biocatalytic and organometallic chemistry, to also addressing emerging topical industry issues, as this chemistry has become "main stream." The strategic need to accelerate discovery to market is just as important as ever, however it has become more complicated as the molecules, their manufacturing methods and science have become more complex.

Aside from issues of chirality, ChiraSource2002-Europe will feature advances in "software" as it relates to electronic filing and "proteomics" as it relates to new frontier challenges. These topics enrich the base platforms of "Industry Challenges" and "The State-of-the-Art."
