Integrated Catalyst & Process Technologies
for Value-Added Polyolefins

Developments in olefin polymerization catalysis continue to provide a
route to new or improved polyolefins (POs) as well as a vehicle toward
enhanced process operations with superior economics. Success in
these developments requires an appropriate integration of catalyst
elections with reactor type and process parameters.

The Catalyst Group Resources (TCGR), in its newest multi-client
study entitled "Integrated Catalyst & Process Technologies for
Value-Added Polyolefins
,
" will define the technologies, in commercial
practice and in development, where catalyst and process technologies
are yielding value-added PO resins. The study will address the
characteristics of the technologies, the potential products which have
been (or can be) achieved and the issues which were successfully
overcome in order for the technology to proceed. The study will
examine the developments in catalysts for PO production, including
metallocenes, metallocene analogues, late transition metal single-site
organometallics and modified/improved Ziegler-Natta systems. It will
also assess the progress in modifying or improving reactor technologies,
such as the solution, slurry, bulk, gas-phase and autoclave processes
(and combinations) for value-added POs.
